I hold this event dear: Iran Oscar-winning director Asghar Farhadi

With ‘The Salesman’ sweeping awards at Iran Cinema Celebration, Oscar-winning Iranian director Asghar Farhadi says the event has been special for him.

The director addressed the crowd in a recorded video message during the 2017 edition of Iran Cinema Celebration on Tuesday, saying, “In the case of my films, in comparison with other festivals, I gained most prizes from Iran Cinema Celebration. It means something special to me.”

He notedو “I would also like to thank the jury panel and those who voted for my film, adding, “It is a pleasure to hear that ‘The Salesman’ won some awards at Iran Cinema Celebration and such incident is very valuable for me.”

The 19th edition of the Iran Cinema Celebration announced winners with Asghar Farhadi’s ‘The Salesman’ grabbing awards for best feature film, best director and best script, among others.
